A demand for an Australian Bill of Rights
We the people, in an environment of depleted personal rights, want the Government of Australia to formally legislate the Australian Bill of Rights.
Why is this important?
There have been several attempts to legislate an Australian Bill of Rights:
Parliamentary Charter of Rights and Freedoms Bill 2001
Australian Bill of Rights 2019
On each occasion Parliament has not proceeded to final readings, apparently without valid reasons, leaving the people of Australia without valid legislation to protect our rights on a national level. Even though we have signed up to international treaties there is no legislation to comply, and no will to do so.
In light of recent developments in legislation both at State and Federal level, our rights have been substantially eroded, with no recourse. The so-called "Covid-19 pandemic" has allowed Government to manipulate Covid Statistics, and has now introduced legislation to amend the Defence Legislation Amendment (Enhancement of Defence Force Response to Emergencies) Bill 2020 which provides powers that CAN be used to further reduce human rights in situation as we have just seen.
For instance, YOU CAN BE COERCED to undertake medical procedures including vaccination, regardless of safety or circumstance, whilst an adequate Bill of Rights does not exist.
Without a formal Australian Bill of Rights there is NO protection from increasingly draconian laws. We are exposed to the whims of uninformed and manipulated politicians who listen to the self-interest of powerful lobbyists and party politics that are not acting in the interests of the people who elect them.
We are one a very few countries that does not have a Bill of Rights!
I ask everyone in Australia to sign this petition, to be presented to Parliament via Andrew Wilke MP, who has tried many times to open the door to an effective Bill of Rights.
I will keep you updated as to the progress we make.
