Terminate Robert Doyle’s Order of Australia AC medal

Given the outcome of the multiple investigations conducted by numerous independent government bodies at both the Local and State level, the multiple investigations conducted by two leading Queen’s Counsels, QC's and two top-tier law firms into the reported behaviour of former Melbourne Lord Mayor Robert Doyle towards numerous women dating back to his time as a teacher in the late 1970’s it appears to me as a proud Australia that his Order of Australia AC medal should be terminated as a sign of respect to the countless survivors and victims of sexual misconduct.

Did you know that under section 3 Of the Constitution of the Order of Australia titled:

TERMINATION AND CANCELLATION OF APPOINTMENTS AND AWARDS

the following is stated:

  (3) The Governor-General may terminate an appointment, or cancel an award, without the advice of the Council or the Minister of State for Defence if the Governor-General considers it appropriate to do so.

Therefore the Governor General is in a position to be able to make a unilateral decision on this matter and we are encouraging all Australians to sign this petition and to email His Excellency David Hurley asking him to terminate Doyle's medal, Email: [email protected] [email protected].
