According to the WHO guidelines, 40% of Australians are classified as inactive. The costs to the health care system of inactivity related disease and illness is enormous. The burden of disease for Bribie Island and surrounding communities is already relatively high compared to neighbouring jurisdictions due an older population and people from low socio-economic backgrounds. Public pools can help reduce morbidity and mortality. Learn to swim, aquatherapy, aquarobics, lap or squad swimming, school carnivals and specifically tailored activities not only improves individual well-being, their provision can also contribute positively to the broader community socially and economically.

This green space is home to many species of birds and animals. During the recent closure of the reserve these birds and animals were often found distressed by the encroachment on their homeland. Butler Reserve has been used by all locals. Elderly people who were born in nearby homes and have lived there all their lives use it to walk safely often with their pets.. Until the council prevented access to the Reserve youngsters regularly played cricket , football and other games as it is the only safe space large enough for this use in the area. Thousands of people benefit ( local vendors, shop keepers ,musicians and tourists) from both the Monthly and weekly Farmer's markets. Butler Reserve provides a tranquil space during the very busy tourist times. Again before access was closed artists could be found painting or musicians playing and writing in solace. Experimental attempts at providing a carpark on this reserve have all failed. During the past it has been opened as a free carpark which led to overuse by van dwellers who while they attempted to treat the land with respect had no facilities provided by Council. Therefore rubbish and human waste became a problem. The Reserve was then transformed into a paid carpark and was immediately underused and remained so until this scheme was also abandoned by Council. It is clear that the carpark idea does not work and should not be implemented. Greenspace is a form of social capital that is evidently highly valued by all councils in other LGA's eg. Gold Coast. In fact it is also apparent that these public green spaces are highly valued in all country towns even those where available water is an issue. They reflect the underlying values of a town and their leaders. Increasing they are being seen a highly important for the wholistic health of people, mental, physical and spiritual. Please accept this as a sincere and worthwhile platform for abandoning any plans for a carpark on Butler Reserve.

Building these dirt jumps will allow the community to have fun, progress their skills, be active and exercising, enjoying time with fellow riders and shredding.

Recruitment is a dog eat dog world where a number of candidates are mismatched to company's requirements by agents causing hurt, pain, discouragement, and at times depression for candidates who have been in the market for some time in search of a job. When companies can pay recruitment agencies to source talent, why cannot companies incentivise the recruitment process for future asset pool by paying qualified candidates to be paid for each stage of interview they are part of? This will instil responsibility in all involved parties.

Australian Unity (AU) and Lane Cove Council (LCC) plan to build a 7 storey 160 unit seniors and aged care complex on public recreation play fields at 266 Longueville rd, Lane Cove. The AU proposal is grossly incompatible in height, bulk, scale and built form with the well-established surrounding residences and the Development Control Plan for the site. The idea to build units on recreation play fields has been strongly opposed by the public. However, LCC has a $34 M interest by a 99yr lease to AU and is seen to enable maximising profits, instead of performing its usual role of protecting the surrounding Environment conservation zone and 46 families that surround the property. It shut down the Commissioner Eric Armstrong Public Hearing, when the commissioner deferred his decision pending an assessment by LCC to ensure the land is not required for future recreational needs. It then removed the “Bush Fire Prone” zoning of the land, to remove asset protection zones and increase foot print. It supported the development exceeding the councils own LEP height restriction and destruction of trees in the Environment conservation zone passing through the property. The clause removed, was formulated by the SNPP themselves. Therefore it is fully aware of what is required for compatibility. It restricts 5 levels overlooking the Golf course and re-states the height restriction and built form on the LEP to ensure no height differential with the low density residences 12m away. The amenity of the golf course and 46 residences with boundaries to these play fields are severely affected by the incompatible and uncontrolled profit maximisation of this over development. It is an injustice to the surrounding families. Demand independence, consistency and integrity from the Sydney North Planning Panel by signing this petition, now! Please spread the word!

This DA was originally approved in 2011 & was renewed in 2016 although no obvious physical work had been commenced on the site. The DA is for twin 3 story buildings & an underground car park. The site is less than 40 metres from the banks of Moona Moona Creek & is in it's immediate flood plain. The Council's Natural Resources & Floodplain Unit states that basement car parking is not recommended in flood prone land. The original flood report was prepared in 2011 & since then a new bridge has been constructed over the Creek & sea levels are rising due to climate change. Moona Moona Creek & it's mangroves are a critical hatchery for small fish & is essential for the health of Jervis Bay, the major attraction of the Shoalhaven.

The loss of this service means residents have lost valuable link to the city. More people have to resort to car travel on our already congested only road to the city

To make the resident of Hobsons Bay feel safer when using the path at dawn or at night. And for the residents of Hobsons Bay to fully enjoy the green spaces provided, as well championing the fact that Hobsons Bay as a leading green energy council

To improve safety of bike riders. Currently it is very difficult for a bike rider to cross the Mornington roundabout and busy highways across multiple lanes of traffic to gain entry to the park.

We have no local parks, reserves or footpaths, while council areas such as Clarence sets the standard. We need reserves and parks for children, parents and grandparents - a common area to value. We need footpaths for safety as mothers with strollers are forced to walk on the busy roads in the area.

It is important for the health and. wellbeing of the aged and disabled people who live in Old Bass Point Road who previously had a reasonable path to Harbour Boulevard. It is also a commonly used path by the residents of Shell Cove who come that way to access Shellharbour bus stops, village and beach. Walking and cycling groups use the path constantly.

I believe YOUNG Is falling behind similar sized towns in attracting major performance shows. Griffith has had a regional theatre for some years. Leeton has announced a multi million dollar upgrade to the Roxy Theatre. People are moving from the city to regional areas and we need cultural activities to keep them here.
