My name is Anna Bardsley. I'm a retired business woman, mother of five. I am a singer and a writer, a gardener, a grandmother — and I lost ten years of my life to the pokies. I learnt the hard way that gambling corporations will stop at nothing to extract as much money from people as possible. They ruthlessly prey on vulnerable people, destroying lives, tearing families apart, and harming our communities in the process. For decades, reforming the gambling industry has been close to impossible. But in March, the NSW Liberal Party is taking the first step by proposing a new law to reduce their harmful powers, and Labor might very well add their support too. But we need NSW MPs to stand strong against the huge lobbying power of the gambling industry, which will be putting enormous pressure on them to stop or water down this law. NSW rural and remote health and hospital services are in crisis due to a lack of engagement with rural and remote people in decision-making, the absence of a clear strategy for rural health and accountability for rural health outcomes, and poorly targeted investments in recruiting and retaining doctors, nurses, mental health and allied health staff by the NSW Government. Rural and remote communities need the help of the NSW Government to fundamentally reform our rural and remote health and hospital system so that it is responsive to the needs of individual communities and has the resources to address the causes and consequences of poor health. People who live in rural and remote NSW have a higher rate of chronic diseases compared to people living in regional and metropolitan cities, will die up to 11 years earlier and have inadequate access to primary health care and hospital services. The median age of death of rural and remote people is going backwards, while more than 3,000 rural and remote residents in NSW die unnecessarily every year from preventable causes. Rural and remote people need a health and hospital system that is designed around their unique needs and circumstances. Metropolitan approaches has failed to deliver the right care in the right place and at the right time for rural and remote communities. Building the right health system will help is to save more rural and remote residents from ill-health, and premature and avoidable death. Rural and remote residents produce the fresh food we eat and generate more than 65% of the nation's export wealth. Access to appropriate health care is not just a human right, it is critical for the future of jobs and economic development in our country.

Wouldn't it be better to support the industry through stimulating work and small business activity than handing out financial support to hospitality workers who have lost their jobs ?

_'Trying to invert reality'_ Mathias Cormann's climate credentials are sadly lacking and has put big business before climate in almost every instance. Actually to the point of discounting all scientific evidence. Mathias Cormann talks up 'green recovery' in OECD pitch, pitching ‘zero net emissions as soon as possible’, which contradicts his record while in Australian government. Become more climate change skeptical and slow mitigation policy whenever and wherever possible. Harden its stance against refugee.

With the cost of living increasing and financial pressures growing this is a way to lower the cost of fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts whilst delivering better nutritional outcomes and community engagement.

We are way behind other countries in the uptake of EVs and the lack of such an incentive and lack of emission standards for vehicles stops manufacturers providing many of the EV's that exist to our shores. This needs to change as it would help the environment

This unjust and immoral war on this plant has to end. Australians shouldn’t be criminalised for using a plant that is far less harmful than alcohol and tobacco. The waste of resources policing this unjust law as well as the targeting of minorities needs to end. The time has come for Australia to catch up with the rest of the world!

SWALSC members and NCT beneficiaries are concerned that over $18 million of our funds and the potential future income and benefits from these funds held in trust by our professional trustee EQT have been diminished as a result of misrepresentations made by SWALSC executives and the SWALSC Governing committee. We feel that persons, organisations and trustees should be held accountable for these activities conducted in 2019 and 2020

Western Australia’s native sandalwood (Santalum spicatum; ‘willarak’ in the Noongar language; 'dutjahn' in Martu/Wongi)) is a beautiful small tree that used to grow all across southern WA. Over-exploitation in the 175 years since colonisation has stripped sandalwood from much of its original range. Sandalwood was the Swan River Colony's first export! The WA government trading enterprise, Forest Products Commission (FPC), makes a profit from ‘pulling’ sandalwood in outback WA, uprooting whole live trees which are often hundreds of years old. Current exploitation (2,500 tonnes per annum) is far above the government's own optimistic estimate of long term sustainable yield ("600 tpa" in 2012). To make matters even worse, FPC's 'regeneration' in the wild is a disastrous failure due to grazing by introduced animals, loss of native seed-burying mammals, frequent fires and climate change. FPC acts as a state monopoly in taking native sandalwood from the wild (for free!) and then selling it to its chosen processors to make oils and incense. It is doing all it can to hinder the transition to the large, established native sandalwood plantations in WA's wheatbelt, while also trying to restrict the growth of Aboriginal-owned sandalwood businesses (such as Dutjahn Oils) which operate on a much lower volume of mostly dead sandalwood. The burgeoning native sandalwood plantation sector needs to align itself and work with Aboriginal Traditional Owners in partnership for ethical, moral and sustainable sourcing of Western Australian sandalwood products. Oils, nuts, etc, from Indigenous-owned businesses are the only WA sandalwood products consumers should choose.

A Clean Recovery will make energy cleaner and cheaper, and create more jobs than dangerous fossil fuels like methane gas. Australia can be a clean energy superpower, proudly exporting energy from our wind, waves and sun. We can power our businesses and homes with solar, make our houses more affordable and energy efficient, and restore the natural landscapes we love. To make it a reality, we need widespread support from key politicians and community members across the country. Sign the petition for clean, affordable energy and climate-friendly jobs for people across the country.

This is vital because at present our state government is giving developers what should cost them many millions per annum. Meanwhile the need for affordable housing is far from being met. In the ACT, development continues apace while developers are taxed a large percentage (*need to check actual %) of the increased land value which comes with rezoning eg from low to medium density, and projects must begin within 12 or 18 months (*again, need to check exact requirement).

Implementing a Clean Recovery Plan will reduce energy cost and create twice as many secure jobs than polluting and expensive fossil gas and nurture a safe climate for our children and grandchildren. Delivering a Clean Recovery will need widespread support from key federal and state politicians and concerned local communities such as ours across the country. Mount Alexander Shire Council, last year declared a Climate Emergency and has committed to a roadmap to carbon neutrality for council operations by 2025, an example to federal and state governments of results achievable with strong community support and commitment to scientific evidence based climate policy.
