The federal government is letting us down on this issue. We need all local governments to take a leadership role if we are to avoid the worst outcomes of climate change and have a liveable future for our children. Nearby Indigo Shire has declared a Climate Emergency. So has Albury City Council. Alpine Shire has committed to net-zero by 2023. Tell our councillors we want them to take this issue seriously and keep our city liveable, by taking urgent action to reach net-zero emissions as soon as possible.

The exploitation of Indigenous people, their land and culture by big business has to stop. The connection of the Indigenous people to this beautiful land has well been acknowledged by the AFL and AFLW, with indigenous rounds featuring indigenous designed guernsey's , acknowledgement of counties and programs to educate, empower and develop Indigenous players. It has just started acknowledging the wrong doings to its past Indigenous players in regards to racism. JUST.. It is now time for the AFL and AFLW to stand up and take a stand for its Indigenous communities. It's notable that the AFL and AFLW organisation's have definitely made strides to rectifying past wrong doings, however they can not rest on those morals. The AFL and AFLW both have the platform to lead the way in social change. To demonstrate to every individual person involved in its organisation and their supporters that it is truly committed to supporting its First Nations People. In a time when we all need to stand up, do more, learn from our histories mistakes. To be better across all areas that effect our society and our planet. I believe this is the time and opportunity for each individual within the AFL and AFLW to take a stand and continue to embrace the rich and strong Indigenous culture and people as well as their connection to country, that has provided so much for this great Australian game. From the land the game is played on, to the thousands of Indigenous players to the hundreds of thousands of loyal supporters of clubs at every level of this great game they have a responsibility to immediately cut ties with BHP and RIO TINTO. To stop taking their dirty earth killing culture destroying money. The Adelaide Crows, AFL and AFLW have a social responsibility to stand up to big business's who actively destroy sacred land. We all have this responsibility. For the sake of our land, our culture, our game.

This unjust and immoral war on this plant has to end. Australians shouldn’t be criminalised for using a plant that is far less harmful than alcohol and tobacco. The waste of resources policing this unjust law as well as the targeting of minorities needs to end. The time has come for Australia to catch up with the rest of the world!

SWALSC members and NCT beneficiaries are concerned that over $18 million of our funds and the potential future income and benefits from these funds held in trust by our professional trustee EQT have been diminished as a result of misrepresentations made by SWALSC executives and the SWALSC Governing committee. We feel that persons, organisations and trustees should be held accountable for these activities conducted in 2019 and 2020

Western Australia’s native sandalwood (Santalum spicatum; ‘willarak’ in the Noongar language; 'dutjahn' in Martu/Wongi)) is a beautiful small tree that used to grow all across southern WA. Over-exploitation in the 175 years since colonisation has stripped sandalwood from much of its original range. Sandalwood was the Swan River Colony's first export! The WA government trading enterprise, Forest Products Commission (FPC), makes a profit from ‘pulling’ sandalwood in outback WA, uprooting whole live trees which are often hundreds of years old. Current exploitation (2,500 tonnes per annum) is far above the government's own optimistic estimate of long term sustainable yield ("600 tpa" in 2012). To make matters even worse, FPC's 'regeneration' in the wild is a disastrous failure due to grazing by introduced animals, loss of native seed-burying mammals, frequent fires and climate change. FPC acts as a state monopoly in taking native sandalwood from the wild (for free!) and then selling it to its chosen processors to make oils and incense. It is doing all it can to hinder the transition to the large, established native sandalwood plantations in WA's wheatbelt, while also trying to restrict the growth of Aboriginal-owned sandalwood businesses (such as Dutjahn Oils) which operate on a much lower volume of mostly dead sandalwood. The burgeoning native sandalwood plantation sector needs to align itself and work with Aboriginal Traditional Owners in partnership for ethical, moral and sustainable sourcing of Western Australian sandalwood products. Oils, nuts, etc, from Indigenous-owned businesses are the only WA sandalwood products consumers should choose.

The adverse effects of alcohol are very significant, especially to Aboriginal communities. Woolies intend to open a very big liquor store within walking distance of a number of dry communities. This is appalling to put corporate profit ahead of public health, especially of vulnerable communities.

In October 2020 Annaliesse Ugle, an 11 year old child, took her own life when she found out her sexual abuser of 6 years, had been released on bail. Anna's Mum Sam did not want Anna to be forgotten, to become another statistic. So we have formed #annasvoice. Anna will be the driving force for change. It is a fact across the whole Australian community that children continue to be sexually molested and commit suicide or suffer in silence. At present they have no effective tools in which they can use, allowing them to determine what is inappropriate, if a person is a sexual predatorial or what grooming is. Deadly Guardians provides them with the tools, the means to reach out without fear and will detect if a child is at risk of self harm. It will also empower school age children to be protectors of their younger siblings. We need government to step up and fund Poche Centre for Indigenous Health so they can undertake the pilot and prove the program will:- Allow a child the means in which to reach out without fear of retribution or shame Give the child the tools in which to identify a sexual predator without demonising men or women. Provide the child with the understanding of what grooming looks like. Provide a framework that will allow strong Elders and leaders the ability to create change through the children in this challenging community issue. That it is easily adaptable to suit mainstream primary schools. That it will enable Kids Helpline the ability to determine if a child is at risk of self harm every morning. By providing a child with an online mentor, a famous athlete or singer who, as an avatar, they will be able to continually support the child emotionally, in academic achievement and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Provide a means by which a child can address emotional challenges as a child rather than as a traumatised teenager. Poche Centre for Indigenous Health is keen to work with me to complete the program development and then undertake the pilot. It has been 10 years since this program was originally developed. A Federal ICAC will either dispel or confirm reports of widespread dishonesty in the distribution of Federal Government Funds, for example, and not limited to: $150 million for the “regional” swimming pools, including $10 million for the region of the North Sydney pool $272 million Regional Growth Fund most of which was dished out in a hurry just before the last Federal election. $841.6 million for the Building Better Regions Fund. $200 million in government advertising in the lead up to the election – an unprecedented level of self-promotion with your money $2 billion for the ironically-named Climate Solutions Fund. $4 billion Urban Congestion Fund incorporating the $500 million Commuter Car Park Fund that mainly benefited coalition marginal seats $300 million Drought Communities Program – where the government ignores its own criteria and hands out money without regard for eligibility $220 million Regional Jobs and Investment Package – ministers rejecting 28 per cent of the recommended applications and approving 17 per cent without recommendation $22.65 million for the Stronger Communities Program, and $22.65 million for the Communities Environment Program. And ensure that OUR money is spent to provide the electorate with the best outcomes. COVID 19 has bought a change of circumstances. Lessened parliamentary sittings have seen the usual checks and balances severely restricted. A Federal ICAC would go some way to remedy this, and demonstrate that our Federal Parliament is, and has been acting in the best interests of the electorate.

The aboriginal community understand this land. While our fire and land management practices may be sufficient they could be better. For the sake of the community, our flora and fauna it would be of benefit to work with the first nation people to see if we could improve our practices.

AUSTRALIA IS NOT RUNNING OUT OF WATER... IT IS BEING SOLD FOR PROFIT ! Let's stop arguing about whether climate change is real or a hoax, it really doesn't matter any more. Australia is in a catastrophic state of emergency and if these water mis-use practices are not immediately ceased, the situation will become even more disastrous.

Walker Group has proposed to build 3600 units in the Toondah wetlands in Moreton Bay (a RAMSAR site) which will devastate mangroves, and harm migratory shorebirds, dolphin, dugong, turtle, and koala populations in the area. The former QLD State Newman LNP Government had issued the area a PDA (Priority Development Area) but the current QLD State Labor Government has kept it in place, and the Federal Coalition Government has ignored the advice of its own environmental department on the issue. If built this could also devastate the local economy with increased congestion on our roads, the Cleveland CBD could receive less attention hurting local businesses, and placing more of a burden on the taxpayer to fund for this project despite the concerns of climate change and rising sea levels in an area that could be built on reclaimed wetlands. Local first nations groups have also received hardly any contact or input in the process, as this is an area sensitive to cultural heritage as well. Building such a development could also pose as a noise and potential health risk to nearby residents.
