• We must not waste this opportunity for an Australian Clean Recovery
A Clean Recovery will make energy cleaner and cheaper, and create more jobs than dangerous fossil fuels like methane gas. Australia can be a clean energy superpower, proudly exporting energy from our wind, waves and sun. We can power our businesses and homes with solar, make our houses more affordable and energy efficient, and restore the natural landscapes we love. To make it a reality, we need widespread support from key politicians and community members across the country. Sign the petition for clean, affordable energy and climate-friendly jobs for people across the country.

  • Cap Aged Homecare Provider Fees
Department of Health figures show that 28,000 aged Australians died over the last two years while waiting for homecare despite the Prime Minister promising 10,000 extra packages in November last year and a further 6,000 new packages in July this year. The privatised system seems unable to deliver the care the Government has promised while at the same time it obtains huge financial gains from the taxpayer.

  • None of us are equal until all of us are equal
For a long time, people with disability a have been treated as less humans, especially women with disability, their rights to make decisions regarding their sexual and reproductive health are always taken away, most of them are sterilised involuntarily without acknowledging or listening to their opinion on child birth and marriage. Hence, this petition is to advocate against against such inhumane practices, so we want this petition to get to the government bodies, health practitioners, families and carers of PWD and together we can make the dreams of these women come true.

  • Royal Commission into the Ruby Princess
The covid 19 has caused death and destruction among the Australian community and it is imperative that we find out who is responsible for it. A Royal Commission will bring out the truth and will stop any attempt to cover it up.

  • De-privatisation
De-privatisation will provide government with an additional income stream from company dividends which can be used to offset the debt accumulated over the period of the COVID 19 crisis.

  • COVID-19- Endgame C (lockdown-stop and restart) needs to happen to save lives
While things remain open, people will gather. While schools remain open, kids will go. They may not get very sick, but they can bring it home to those who will. Teachers can also contract it. This is not a practice run. This is happening. We need to let the government know that our lives are important. This is supported by the following article. Please read this article. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-21/coronavirus-the-case-for-endgame-c-stop-almost-everything/12077096?utm_medium=spredfast&utm_content=sf231766232&utm_campaign=abc_news&utm_source=m.facebook.com&sf231766232=1&fbclid=IwAR0wdiRQAbRjayUz2Ymawy9jPCn2rOvZCH7BXHGGP9mIQqZurBtPTfENx9w We must choose Endgame C, and choose it quickly. 7 days ago we had only 250 cases at the end of that day- last Sunday. Now we have upwards of 1100 cases. That’s a huge increase- in one week. By that logic, next Sunday, we’ll have 4000 cases. But wait, that’s if it increases at a steady rate, which it doesn’t. The numbers are old data anyway. If we know about these 1000 cases now, a week ago they were still there, we just didn’t know about them yet, walking around sharing Covid-19 with friends and family. So realistically we have at least 4000 people out there walking around without knowing they have it, sharing it with others. If they share it with only 4 other people- well, you can do the Maths. The only option here is Endgame C. The Prime Minister thinks people will make smart choices. He has too much faith in people. They will not comply if simply asked to. We saw that at Bondi. There need to be strict instructions and rules. I am not alone. Most of Australia wants to go into lockdown, but won’t unless instructed to do so. The only option is lockdown for 8-12 weeks. Small price to pay really.

  • Your community says save the ABC!
The ABC keeps our country safe in times of crisis. It helps us stay informed with stories we can trust. It holds truth to power at a time when misinformation is on the rise. It educates our children. Many Kooyong locals grew up with the ABC and depend on it daily, so it’s hard to imagine our lives without it. But years of budget cuts are pushing it to breaking point with more programmes facing cancellation and hundreds of job losses to come. A massive $340 million has been cut from the ABC’s budget since 2014, and the latest funding freeze has created an additional $84 million funding shortfall. We need to act now, before it’s too late. The ABC is the most trusted news source in the country. It brings our community together. We love our ABC, which is why we are asking our local representative to champion it.
